Either way, they can be treated with Kybella®, the first FDA-approved injectable treatment to reduce fat under the chin.
Kybella® is a non-surgical procedure that mimics the body’s natural fat-absorption process, so you can skip the liposuction. The injection contains a man-made form of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring material that helps the body absorb fat. So in no time, your double chin will be a thing of the past. And, so will any issues of self-doubt.
Kybella is a nonsurgical injectable technique used to target the fat beneath the chin. The process uses a series of deoxycholic acid injections to target the fat cells in this area. No incisions are required, and the downtime is minimal in most cases.
The best candidate is an adult 18 years or older with moderate to severe fat beneath the chin.
Kybella is currently the only FDA-approved injectable to treat the appearance of a double chin.
Please let us know if you have any bleeding/clotting disorders, issues with swallowing or are pregnant nursing. As a nonsurgical procedure, there is little preparation required for Kybella. It’s advisable to schedule the procedure well before any major events. Washing your face properly before the appointment can help reduce the risk of infection, and avoiding ibuprofen and acetaminophen can prevent post-treatment bruising.
Before the procedure, we will numb your skin with a blend of lidocaine. We will then mark the skin. The Kybella will then be administered. Most clients receive 60-80% improvement with the first treatment (2-5 vials). Some clients go on to have 1 additional treatment (1-3 vials).
The cost per vial is $500
The number of treatments needed varies for each person. Multiple treatments might be needed to reach optimal results.
Though Kybella is nonsurgical, some common side effects include pain, swelling, bruising, redness, and numbness. The recovery process associated with Kybella is minimal in most cases, and downtime varies from person to person. Minor side effects typically subside in one to two weeks.
